Congratulations to Pilot Network on reaching 300 reviews!

Congratulations to Pilot Network this week for hitting 300 flight school reviews. They have also added a new partner organisation, Pilotbase.

Turning an idea into a functioning, viable proposition is never easy and it's taken a lot of work from both Pilot Network and ourselves to make this happen.

Gitmodules & Drupal 9

Git Submodules, a better way

Gitmodules - Git Sub Modules - are really the bane of my life! The recent Drupal 9 update has brought this into sharp focus and pushed us to find a better way of dealing with these. Here is a recipe...

Delete the .git folder of the submodule with the following
rm -rf public_html/modules/contrib/module_name/.git

rm cached it out of there with this:
git rm --cached public_html/modules/contrib/module_name… Read More

Upgrade from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9

Now Upgraded to Drupal 9

It's been a busy year and Drupal 8 is fast approaching its end of life, so we've been making a start on the process of upgrading to Drupal 9.

The upgrade process is looking like it's quite mature, with lots of the kinks ironed out, but there are still quite a number of contributed modules needing work. As the deadline gets closer the gap should shrink even more.

Drupal promised that the transition from 8 to 9 would be a 'minor' update. It is when compared to the major upheaval of a Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 upgrade, but it's a… Read More

Drupal8 website launch

Website launch: MRAG

More of a site re-launch, this is the upgraded Drupal 8 version of a site we originally built in 2013. The new version has had a design overhaul, updating the look and feel for 2021.

The upgrade process meant that all existing content and user information was transferred across to the new installation seamlessly. A final data migration at the point of going live synchronised the 2 sites.

Using Drupal 8 means that we have all the tools we need right at our fingertips to build top-class websites for premium brands.

Find Your Delivery Location Easily - Even in Rural Wiltshire

We've just added a great new feature to the checkout of the Drupal Commerce website we created for Ed Knights Logs - What3Words.

Finding locations for log deliveries had been a problem, but What3Words allows customers to pinpoint an area 3m squared for their delivery. So, even if you want your logs delivered down a track in the woods, or the house numbers in your street don't make sense, they can find you. Something which is not always easy in the middle of rural Wiltshire!

How to Get your Drupal 8 site Back to Where You Were Before a Composer Update Broke it - using Git

How to Get Back to Where You Were Before a Composer Update

We've all been there, the last composer update you did has broken your whole Drupal 8 website and now you need to unravel the mess and put everything back to how it was.

So, how do you get back to where you were? Well, if you are using Git (and you certainly should be using some sort of version control) and the changes you made are not yet committed you can do this

# reset back to your last commit - should give you the commit number
> git reset --hard

If you have commited changes, you can reset back to a… Read More
